  • Type devmgmt.msc in the start dialog box and click OK. The Device Manager opens immediately.
  • In the Device Manager, uncheck the category in which you believe the driver or device causing the problem is located. Take down the name of the missing driver. You should not hesitate, because you do not want to remove the wrong device.
  • When you have found the device, right-click on it and select Delete Device from the context menu.
  • You may need to confirm the uninstall process. Select the check box next to Remove driver for this device and click OK.
  • Restart the computer for the changes to take effect. After rebooting, Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver and replace it with the manufacturer’s driver.
  • If Windows does not automatically replace the driver, reopen Device Manager, select the Action menu, and then click Check for Hardware Changes. In newer versions of Windows 10, this is the leftmost blue button under the menu bar.
